Air France Airbus A388 regular flight cancellation at CYUL

It was a sad news to Pierre Elliot Trudeau airport in Montréal Canada (CYUL) that Air France will be cancelling their regular route with the A388 from Paris to Montréal due to low demand on their first and business class for this liaison. Air France A388 will be history at YUL as of 2012 fall season. It is especially sad to the airport since they had invested a lot of money to modify one of their bridge to accomodate the huge aircraft. Lets hope that Air France brings it back someday.

Commissioning of the Airbus A380 was premature on this line.

The management of Air France indicated that it maintained its two daily flights between Paris and Montreal, but they will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER and an Airbus A340-300 aircraft offering the latter half of places that an Airbus A380.

The Boeing 777-300ER can carry 383 passengers (42 in Business Class, Premium Economy and 214 Economy Class 317) while the Airbus A340-300 seats up to 275 passengers (30 in Business, 21 Premium and 224 in economic).

The airline company Air France has also stopped flights by Airbus A380 to Dubai and will end in September 2012 to its service between Paris and Orlando, Florida.

If they keep cancelling all their A380 flights on their routes, I wonder what they will do with them!

A garage sale maybe??
