What type material is that?

The main portion of the slat is alloy and the upper aft area “gap seal” (the area that is damaged) is composite honeycomb. Composites on that portion are used because of their flexibility and ability move and conform aerodynamically to the wing shape throughout the wing’s range of bending moment.
