Why are some 737 Max still flying in the US? Were some versions exempt?
The restriction only applies to passenger flights.
Flights without passengers (relocation, maintenance, storage etc.) are still ok.
or are you seeing passenger flights?

Also, there seem to be some 737-800 NG that are shown as 737 MAXes…
Something to watch out for is the winglets. The split winglets on the NG can look pretty similar to the MAX’s. The NG’s split wingles are what I estimate a 180° angle. The NG also have sharp tips, while the MAX are flat.
