Qatar Airlines Flight 707 (QTR 707) is shown twice in the Flightaware flight log. One flight is from the currently operating new Doha airport DOH/OTHH to IAD, the other from OTBD, the old airport. Currently, and also on February 25 and 27. One of each pair of these flights shows up as correctly leaving Doha International in Qatar and taking about 14 hours. The other shows up as if is starting in Iran and taking 11 hours. Qatar Airlines doesn’t have any direct flights from Iran. Only one QTR 707 shows up on the Qatar Airlines website, the first one.
There are no recent arrivals at IAD of this mystery plane.
So what causes the mystery flight? Is it a freight plane, incorrectly mislabeled?
I have created an internal ticket for this to get looked at. It is happening because Doha Intl is occasionally being listed as the origin when Doha Intl is no longer in operation. So a flight is created for the wrong origin and the correct flight is shown from the correct origin.
