Unscrew the whip of cheapoo and use a DIY whip in it’s place, like in this post.
- You will need a very thin wire to be able to easily wrap it over the threaded stub of magnetic base.
- in this post the mouth of V-Stub is shown 35 mm. I discovered later that using 45 mm gives better results.
- Upper wire is shown 147mm long. That slightly varies from installation to installation. Start with 160mm long upper wire. Observe results for say 10 minutes. Then cut by 2mm and again observe results for 10 minutes. Continue cutting-observing. Performance will improve then after you cut more than the sweet-point, it will start decreasing. I have an SWR meter, so it was much easier for me.
