Sukoi SU-27 down at Polish Airshow . . YouTube Video . . .

I hate to say this but, It is probably pilot error in the fact that the crew wasn’t paying attention and misjudged their altitude and the Belarusian government is covering up their mistake by saying it went down because of a bird strike and that they died an honorable death flying the jet away from the crowd. Either way, its very tragic and my thoughts go out to the families.

they dont use my tax dollars to race cars

Of course they do. Federal, state, and local money goes to infrastructure for roads, water and sewer, powerlines, etc… Not to mention tax breaks and other incentives for business. And Police, EMS, Fire department coverage. Any major event or business has “your” tax dollars at use. But you just go on thinking what you like. But be sure to forget the influx of money these events bring to the communities.

Our city’s last census count was around 87,000 people. Our bi-annual airshow brings in over 270,000 people and $7 million for our local economy in two days. Our airshow features the Thunderbirds, Tora-Tora-Tora, Golden Knights etc. and admission is FREE due to overwhelming support and donations from local businesses and communities. So events like this… even if unpopular or unwanted to some, are necessary because they are beneficial the community, the armed forces, and citizens alike.

When was the last NASCAR race you saw without GM or Dodge as a sponsor/competitor? We all own those companies (and the debt that comes with it)…

Damn… RIP… I feel sorry for those guys.

Imagine that… I check about half a dozen major news websites after a google search on this and all the articles they had on this are gone… only ABC has the story still there so far… hmmmmm
