I was wondering how “research flights” were handled in FlightXML?

My company conducts research via balloons and government aircraft equipped with ADS-B systems and reference tail number. Since we do not have direct access to the instruments, we cannot collect the data real-time but rather would post-process the flight data a few hours after landing… once we’re able to recover our instruments.

Which FlightXML commands would you recommend to recover the location data (lat/long/alt) for these type of “research flights”?

FlightInfoEx to get basic info about each flight including the FlightAware Flight ID, then GetHistoricalTrack to get the full set of positions.
