primarily was the message rate, in terms of range, some of the aircraft shown on the rpi / prostick did not appear in the rpi / v3.
i keep getting error 404 when i do 192.168.x.xxx/install/ (where is sub the values for my local ip)
i tried both site local IP and internet IP
i also tried ending with
/install
/install/
/install//
sorry to be such a bother…both of you have been great
Did you give command
./install.sh
after you did
cd adsb-receiver
yes, but just did again and going thru the process (again)
…there is a step re the “following feeders are available for installation”…do i pick the flightaware piaware (upgrade) one?
This still applies: (courtesy of abcd567)
also, what about “feeder installation options”
above tustin
beast-splitter (reinstall)
duck DNS
which one do a select here?
Literally you say NO to everything but the web portal. (I said yes to the updates but that was quite a hassle to be honest. Maybe it’s necessary though)
Nevermind you tried all the addresses
hello wiedehopf…you are great, thank both you and abcd567 for your effort. there are two steps where you can’t say “NO”…like the one i noted above…feeder installation options…it makes you pick one of them (above tustin or beast-splitter (reinstall), or duck DNS…i tries to bypass all of them but it makes you select one before you can say “ok”
You can pick none by checking no box i believe. (press TAB to get to the ok button)
If you picked a feeder and did the install that probably screwed the image.
Normally this script is not meant for installations with the feeder already present.
there is not a “no” box…so, i will pick beast-splitter and say ok and then see what comes next
No i mean there is a box for every option. You should be able to select no boxes.
ah, so now i will start over…will advise tomorrow
got it! am starting over and will advise
ok, done. all installed and signed in via browser. now, how do i start the routine?
Which routine?
Just access your pi with the IP and go to graphs, that’s what you wanted no?
(System → Performance Graphs)
(the optimize gain script is something different from RRDTOOL, and you asked for RRDTOOL which makes those nice graphs
those graphs should be nice anyway to optimize the gain)
(Getting the green area in the Signal graph (mean signal level) to around -10 is a good starting point i would say)
yes, i just wanted the graphs, so, hopefully last dumb question…how do i access my pi with the IP and go to graphs?
http://IP-address
well, that was easy…thank you so much
all is up and running, thank you so much for your time and patience
