Flying so north.

Why do planes fly so far north when flying from east coast to west coast?jetblue flight 6597 is almost 200 miles north of Winnipeg flying to Seattle from Boston?i don’t need someone to tell me to google it because I did and no results.KALB I know you’re smart and by the way thanks for showing me that website Google!

Google for orthodrome : the shortest path on a sphere.

I know about all this stuff but all I’m saying is how come the other carriers fly in straight line it s only seems to be JetBlue if you look right now you’ll see other carriers flying more or less straight.

Winds aloft. Weather. Whole host of reasons. Investigate how flight plans are made. Any number of variables will determine route of flight.

Let me Google that for you! http://bit.ly/1oDWavU
