Hello all!
This topic is for all flight aware enthusiasts living in Greece!!!
Let’s discuss!
I have also created a new group on Facebook. Let’s build our community!
ADS-B Greek Community | Facebook
Hello @zenonp
Ιf you are interested I am trying to build a greek ads-b community.
My flightcrew is called ADSB GREEK COMMUNITY
Flight Crew Community/Team Management - FlightAware
We already have a facebook group and a webpage
ADS-B Greek Community (facebook.com)
ADS-B Greek Community – Ελληνική κοινότητα ADS-B (adsbgreekcommunity.gr)
Well, to be honest, I’m not interested in a separate Greek community. ADS-B is global and I regard myself as part of a global community, sharing the same interests and problems with any Argentinian, Indonesian or Canadian member of this community. Besides, I’m not on facebook or any other so-called “social” platforms.
With that said, I can still see a potential for local cooperation. Especially with a geography like that of Greece, where there is always a mountain blocking your view in some direction, unless you’re at the very peak of that mountain.
So I’d say think it over carefully, concretise what the purpose(s) and goal(s) of a Greek ADS-B community would be, and then put them forward and ask again.
Cheers,
Z
Thanks for your response Z.
There are a lot of reasons for establishing a network of adsb receivers in Greece. First of all, as you already said, the terrain makes difficult to cover all places in Greece. I am living 20km away from LGAV and I cannot see any plane under 1300m. Secondly there are many people that are interested to build something from scratch and contribute with new ideas, documentation, guidelines, software etc. This is how a community works and believe it or not behind any application or technological feature there is a community of creative people with common interests and enthusiasm. I will try to add content in our community web, and I hope to give you the answers about the goals and the vision of the adsbgreekcommunity…
Best Regards
Alex
