Hi,
Now my feeder is up and running I’m slightly concerned that it’s running the quad core CPU at 25% pretty much permanently. Does this sound right for the current version of Dump1090-FA?
Thanks
Neil

It’s normal for dump1090 to take 25-40% of one core; it has some heavy lifting to do (all the demodulation DSP work is happening there, it’s crunching through around 5MB/s of sample data)
dump1090-fa does basically all of the base-band processing section of this diagram (including the bits traditionally done in hardware):

I have two dongles running on my rpi one for adsb other for Acars plus VPN server and my CPU usage is always 20% to 25% if you have only dongle running something is not good

@jvcdcarlos - check out Wingedwraith’s ADSB stats. They are a lot higher than yours so the CPU will be working hard.
I recently changed from 1090-mutability to 1090-FA. My CPU usage went from 15% to 25%
