Did it improve their ADSB reception?
That gives me an idea. Instead of using a balloon, throw a rope over a high tree limb and hoist up the antenna.

Here is an update on my Antenna Placement project. This is the view this morning.
This is the graph for the last 14 days. First 7 is pre change and last 7 is post change.
You can see the improvement. The 1090 antenna is at same height for 1090 in all of the days, so the LOS aspect did not change. But the change to the coax (now LMR400) and shorter length (now 25’) allowed the 1090 dongle to be receive a less attenuated signal.
The 978 antenna is below the 1090 and is a FlightAware ADS-B Dual Band 6dbi with LMR400 (25’) to the 978 dongle.
My home is at an elevation of 610’. The base of the DX Engineering Fiberglass Tubing is at 632’. The base of the 1090 antenna is at 653’. The airport elevation for ATL is 1026’, CLT is 748’ and RDU is 404’.
The enclosure for the Pi 4 is an outdoor electrical box with thermostat and fan, IP65.
Going to let this sit for a while. Thanks for the comments during this project.

Don, I have your six. My 200NM limit to the north comes in around Savanah. Love that 2nd floor wrap around patio porch. That’s a great antenna base site.

Thanks, next is replacing my Pi 4 with a Pi 4 modified for external WiFi antenna, a S2Pi Ice Tower CPU Cooling fan (better summer support) and a PiSugar S Pro battery backup. The Pi used to be inside which had a battery backup unit and now that it is in the exterior box needs some form of UPS. The external WiFi antenna is also due to Pi is now in steel exterior box.

You can have a USB UPS from the usual suspects for a modest price. What sort of run-time are you looking at?
They start at one cell and go up (six cells would give you a decent run-time)

Just be aware the 18650 batteries with the protruding positive button terminal (as shown in the picture) are about 1mm longer and don’t fit the battery holder.
And make sure you order the 5V output.
I have one but on holidays near Santorini and have not tested it yet.
