Looked for Northwestern State at S Alabama but couldn’t find anything. Wonder if they went by bus.
It’s a 6-hour drive, and there’s a hurricane coming.

In my experience, 350-400 miles seems to be around the cutoff between going by bus and going by plane. I have seen larger schools (e.g. Texas, Alabama, LSU) fly shorter distances. Many smaller schools will not fly those shorter distances due to the expense.

Natchitoches to Mobile is right about on that threshold, so my guess is that they probably indeed went by bus. There is a more northerly route that they can take through Mississippi that adds a bit of time but would avoid the effects of the storm coming ashore.
