1090 MHz long range has stopped working

I am a Amateur Radio Operator ( Ham radio ) and I have a US Tower TX-489MDPL tower with a 25’ mast. My ADS-B antenna is at the very top of the mast on this tower and I have the DPD Production 1090 antenna. The tip of this antenna is over 125’ in the air and I’m on a hill. Every since I installed this system on my tower I have always been able to receive aircraft way past the outer 250nm ring but a few days ago something changed and now I am only receiving aircraft that’s within the very first radar ring which is only 100nm and most the aircraft within this ring look to only be about 50 nm out, not even out to the edge of the first ring. Has anyone experienced this with their setup? It has worked flawlessly and was receiving excellent as far as 300 miles out until a few days ago. I have triple checked everything and can’t understand what happened, please help.

Thanks in advance,
Todd (my ham call sign is W4TMH)

Without more details, especially about your config (including the content of your config files) it is hard to say. If it’s your own device (not a FA shipped feeder), do you have graphs1090 installed? If yes, some charts would be interesging as well.

Are you using an amplifier? Could be broken. Also cabling might cause such issues. Things which can be fixed by you.

Another thing what we hear from time to time is that another sender/receiver (e.g. mobile network, other radio towers with devices) have been established which can cause interferences as well. There is not much you can do if this is the reason.

Sorry about that, it is the orange FA box, I am using Times Microwave LMR 400 flex coax with PL-259 connectors, from FA box all the way to antenna with no breaks/connectors in between, one solid run of coax from FA box to antenna and once again it has worked flawlessly for nearly 2 years now. I checked all exterior connectors (which have water proofing tape on them and all are secure and dry). I plugged my Rig Expert into the cable via connectors and ALL (all the way up to antenna) show to be GREAT. And I do Not have an AMP, never needed one with this setup.

On the forum we can’t help with the FA supplied flightfeeders since FA is the only party that can control them.
If you had your own equipment then we might be able to assist.

Awe ok sorry I didn’t know that, first time typing on this forum. Ok I’ve got an email sent into FA so we’ll see what they tell me. Thank you so much for such a fast prompt reply.

Happy Friday and thank you again.

is there any water ingress in the antenna or cable. has the gain changed or your LNA stopped working. you have given very little on what setup you have

you’ll probably need to install the 1090graphs to get a better look at the data within your setup to see whats happening.

It an FA operated flightfeeder without SSH acces for the user

FYI…Todd addressed those concerns in his 2nd post entry about water etc.
