Why would someone choose to disable mlat?
Appreciate there is extra data and processor load but assume this is actually negligible to even a Pi Zero.

One reason is because there are no other stations for it to synchronise to.
In some locations data is not necessarily cheap.

I had to disable MLAT in a location where I was using a phone’s hotspot for connection. The phone’s plan had only 1GB of data.
Since the data was higher than that, even after MLAT was canceled, I renounced at that spot.
