Does anyone have any pics of KIAD GA ramps from 1/19-1/21?
Kinda an odd request? Looking for a particular airplane during that time frame?
Security cameras I am sure captured every tail number in and out of the GA ramps.
Just wanted to see how they fit all those planes on the ramp, saw a report that they were expecting about 600 aircraft in that time frame.
Does KIAD Airport diagram help any?
I think that would be a great observation…kinda like the Augusta airport during Masters week…times 50!!
If anyone find pics…please post!!
Yes, as soon as the story broke about the jets that came into IAD for President Obama’s inauguration I thought I would love to see a photo of that. Checked Airliners.net and nothing.

Dulles To Close Runway For Private Jet Parking
DULLES, Va. (WUSA) – Most people fly on commercial airplanes. But starting this weekend, hundreds of private jets carrying VIPs, and lots of celebrities, will be coming to town.
“It’s supposed to look like the Oscars! I think it’s crazy. All the people coming to town… amazing!” says Debbie Dailey of Centreville.
But where to park all those private planes is a problem.
Dulles International Airport Manager Chris Browne says, “We expect an larger number of private aircraft than any other inauguration, about 500 over a period of three to four days.”
But Dulles Airport has a ready-made solution. In November, Dulles opened a fourth runway that is only used in the afternoon. It’s far from capacity. Now… it will be a parking lot. For private jets. Browne says taking the runway out of service temporarily will NOT impact general aviation.
He says by being able to consolidate the parking of the private jets in one place, it will make the servicing of those jets more efficient.
Reagan National Airport limits private jets coming in and will not be taking in more than usual.
Both airports and BWI are expecting heavy use Sunday and Monday, and especially the day after when every one leaves on the same day. Similar to the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
On inauguration day, it will be nearly impossible to drive to National Airport. Unless you’re in a taxi, bus, hired limo, or SuperShuttle. That’s because the GW parkway will be closed to general traffic. The only way in will be Route one, and that’s likely to be jammed.
Tara Hamilton says you can still take Metro, cabs, and authorized vehicles on the G.W. But, the best advice if you need to get to or from a local airport, is to have a plan.
