ok thanks… i figured it out… and now… how to stream data to FA??
didn’t you install piaware already?
Nope… i was unable to install… it said that i386 is not supported
oh great…
cd
git clone https://github.com/flightaware/piaware_builder.git
cd piaware_builder
dpkg-buildpackage -b
let’s see if we get any errors
seriously why would you chose i386 and with that useless graphical user interface as well
not sure what that means hmm
let me try myself hopefully i get the same error.
i assume you are on debian stretch or are you using jessie?
if you don’t know show me
apt-cache policy
if you have stretch just do:
./sensible-build.sh stretch
cd package-stretch
dpkg-buildpackage -b
yeah go ahead build the stuff it’s stretch.
same procedure install the missing packets listed (don’t copy the thing in the ( ) just the packet names)
apt-get install tcl8.6-dev python3-dev python3-venv libz-dev
don’t you see the pattern
dpkg -i ../piaware_3.6.3_i386.deb
and set the unique id from your feeder page:
piaware-config feeder-id YOUR_ID
after you have set it:
systemctl restart piaware
yeah and if you read it it says it failed to sign some stuff.
but i won’t hold that against you for not knowing haha
the build worked fine.
please use the command i supplied you left out the i386
dpkg -i ../piaware_3.6.3_i386.deb
all working mate thank you so much… thank you fo rspending many hours to help me out… that’s great man… thank you… and one last question… if i turn off my Debian, and then turn on back (reboot) will piaware and all that stuff load with boot, or i need to do something else…???
Reboots should not be a problem.
Actually try one right now
flightaware would probably prefer if you feed them 24/7 but without a small computer that uses less power that’s a bit uncomfortable.
anyway maybe you can get a new pi or old laptop some day to feed 24/7
ok… let me try…
