Unable to recall/track flights for N9431Q

Our plane N9431Q is a BE33 F33A. It is owned by by three members of an LLC. The name of the LLC is “N9431Q LLC”. I believe the company name is confusing flight aware such that when we try to bring up/track flights, it is looking for the company name rather than the tail number thus we are not seeing the recent flights. Does anyone know how to rectify this?

The name of the company isn’t causing any issues, there are plenty of tailnumber LLCs out there.

Are the recent flights being operated IFR or VFR? Are the flights being operated in the US?

Most recently, VFR flight following which until January resulted in Flightawre picking it up.

Flight tracking for VFR flights isn’t supported by our feed from the FAA for the US. In the past they haven’t been very good at enforcing that policy, but some software updates on their side (notably releases on August 22, 2010 and January 29, 2016) have improved enforcement of their long-standing policy.

When will we be able to see flights with MLAT-only positions?

We’ll be releasing MLAT in the US later this month and then start tackling that.

We have recently released a feature to allow you to view position-only flights (flights without a flight plan) such as a VFR flight with flight following or ADS-B positions; follow these steps:

(You will need to be on the web version of FlightAware. These instructions will not work on the app or mobile site)

  1. Ensure you are either logged into your account or join FlightAware at the following link (flightaware.com/account/join/). You will need to activate your account via email after joining.
  2. Go to your account at the following link (flightaware.com/account/manage) or click on your name or username in the top left hand corner of the site.
  3. Look for a section titled “Position-Only Flights” and click the button for “show position-only flights”
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save”
  5. It could take up to 15 minutes for your account to be updated after you save; After this time, simply search for a tail number or flight from the search bar located at the top-center of the page.
