Hi Folks:
Noticed this 787-9 flight today and wondered if someone could chime in about its purpose. It went out to the Channel Islands and then did circles and tight loops for the next 5 hours. Must have been a busy day for the pilot.

Check the historical flights for the same callsign while you are there
Always to/from same location and different lengths.
Obviously a maint/test range of callsign.
So I did look at the history for UAL3828 and see some other 7XX flights. So this is United sending out its birds after maintenance to ensure airworthiness?
What does this mean? That this 789 circled the Channel Islands for 5 hours testing something onboard?
And here is our answer…
“Per the UA fleet thread, they were shooting promotional pictures/video with this bird. This is one of the new 789 deliveries that’s in a special “The Future is SAF” livery.”
