Transparent Base Layer or Custom Base Layer?

Is there a way to have the base layer of flightAware transparent?

Meaning only the plane icons would show on the screen.
I would like to use flight aware for layering with a fish eye camera i have pointing at the sky.
I know i would need to align it and all that but would like to know if this would be possible to just have the plane icons?
