You may be able to improve your reception with a RadarBox red as it has both and amp and 978 filter.
Personaly, my first upgrade would be a better (and higher) antenna.
I appreciate the tip on the SDR. I am pretty happy with the 1.136swr antenna on 978. I I have spent some time on heywhatsthat and I can see where the hills are hurting me for low level flight tracking in some directions. The high altitude guys I get a long way out (But I am not interested in tracking high altitude planes.)
If your current setup is giving you everything you want, then no, an upgrade wonât help.
You currently have an amplified receiver, but no filter. Unless you do a broad frequency scan, you wonât know if the amp is helping or hurting.
Be aware SWR is not equivalent to gain.
A 50R resistor should give you an SWR of 1:1, but that doesnât mean itâll be a good antenna.
