Setting gain on Dump978

I’ve got the FA UAT antenna and FA Pro radio and the gain at 48. No cable, nor filter in-between. I’m assuming max gain is no longer a good idea with the Pro.
Is there a way to get any feedback from dump978 to get the gain in a good range?

Is the RSSI accurate when that data gets sent into dump1090?

I get 2 A/C not 200 when I use 40db gain with dump1090 without a filter.
I suggest that you start at around 35-40db, depending on the coax loss.

I think the stratux fork has some RSSI measurement that gets emitted with each raw message (i.e. dump978 output)
