Prayers for the family.

That’s sad. Little plane, big weather.

EL DORADO, Ark. – The wreckage of a private airplane missing since late last week was found Monday afternoon near the El Dorado, Ark., airport.

The pilot, who was the lone person on board, did not survive the crash, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The Civil Air Patrol said the wreckage of the plane was found about 2 p.m. by searchers who spotted it from the air. The wreckage was in a dense pocket of trees about 500 yards from the El Dorado airport, the Civil Air Patrol said.

The plane, a single-engine RV-7, was en route from Norwalk, Ohio, to Georgetown, Texas. Pilot Charles Miller of Georgetown had refueled at the South Arkansas Regional Airport in El Dorado on Thursday night.

His plane was reported missing on Friday morning.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
