I live by Lone Star Executive airport (CXO) and the other day i drove by and i saw what looked like a PA-32 sitting on taxiway charlie at runway 14 and it looked like its right main gear collapsed, it was almost dark and i could not see very well, but it looked like it was facing the runway so i know it did not just land , turned off and then it collapsed. So could somebody give me some reasons why it would just collapse?
It would be 1 of 2 things, A part broke and rt main folded or it was misriged (adjusted wrong) and folded. the part would break due to hard landing, too much stress while exiting runway etc.
The aircraft would also be a PA-32R-??? the three question marks being the powerplant type, no âRâ after 32 would make it a fixed gear!
I said, ââThey donât make aircraft where only one MAIN gear retracts.ââ That plane in the pic there has its NOSE gear retracted, not a main. By the way, what kind of plane is that?
That there is one of them there homebuilt type aero-planes by gollyâŚPA tried to build one in da barn next to muley, but just couldnt get that wing to glue on right, dang itâŚ
