The single-engine plane crashed shortly after takeoff Wednesday from Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling. The pilot, Todd Cole, reported the engine was running rough and tried to go back to the airfield, but the aircraft hit a rooftop in an industrial park and landed in a fireball in a parking lot.

This one hits a little close to home. These guys were from my home airport. The kid who was killed worked the desk at the airport and the pilot was a mechanic there. It always seems to happen to someone else, but this instance reassures that it can happen to anyone.
