Problem Setting Up Airspy, Raspberry, Dump1090-fa

If the LNA can handle it he won’t lose any signals usually.
Airspy is very resistant against overload, quite a different behaviour than rtl-sdr.

With the rtl-sdr LNA i’d maybe be concerned about the LNA itself overloading, but the uputronics has less amplification and shouldn’t be an issue i think.

I can confirm that from personal experience with an Airspy mini and an Uputronics SAW LNA. My antenna has line of sight on two local airfields at approx 1.5 NM and 3 NM - both are light aircraft only, but there are no overload issues. Autogain on airspy_adsb rarely drops below 19.

This is the last 30 days:

I have the same. My device equipped with an Uputronics and a good antenna (Vinnant 7.5dB) never drops below 19.

As my setup is working, i don’t care that much about it.

Thanks again to all who have responded.

I have another question about optimizing my set up. Will start a new topic.
