Can someone please help me identify the plane shown here. It was at Mobile, Alabama on 3/24/12.

It’s an F-5

That is what I thought initially, but the F-5 appears to have single canopy and a more squared jet intake. I thought it could be a T-38A but the match does not seem correct either. Sorry the photo is so grainy but the subject was a long shot away.

I’d put my money on T-38, too bad you can’t read the tail number, then you could make a positive ID. Here’s one with the same ‘CB’ marking on the tail and it and others are T-38Cs

That is a T-38C operated by the 14th Operations Group at Columbus AFB, Mississippi.

The aircraft is used for Undergraduate Pilot Training for Air Force pilots selected to fly tactical fighters and bombers.

My guess would be a t-38 also. HAve a look at this video, looks just like the one in your photo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3UDl6KJYKY)

NASA Astronauts shoot approaches here at LCH from EFD in their T38 Talons several times a week.
