Please help identify plane in Photo

Can someone please help me identify the plane shown here. It was at Mobile, Alabama on 3/24/12.

It’s an F-5

That is what I thought initially, but the F-5 appears to have single canopy and a more squared jet intake. I thought it could be a T-38A but the match does not seem correct either. Sorry the photo is so grainy but the subject was a long shot away.

I’d put my money on T-38, too bad you can’t read the tail number, then you could make a positive ID. Here’s one with the same ‘CB’ marking on the tail and it and others are T-38Cs

That is a T-38C operated by the 14th Operations Group at Columbus AFB, Mississippi.

The aircraft is used for Undergraduate Pilot Training for Air Force pilots selected to fly tactical fighters and bombers.
