Had a power failure and my PiAware wouldn’t reconnect, so I burned a new image on my SD card with the correct settings file, including the site unique identifier. This has happened before, so it’s not my first rodeo.
I’m receiving data with no problem and my site information on SkyAware is showing current data. However, in my site configuration Control Panel, I see no logs, even if I refresh.
I’m an IT guy, so it seems to me that for some reason my PiAware isn’t getting “out” to SkyAware. IP addresses are the same, nothing has changed other than re-flashing a new SD card with the same configuration data I’ve been using for some time.
I can confirm that SkyAware Anywhere isn’t showing any aircraft for me as well.
However Piaware is working and uploading data. So i am not too concerned.
I noticed several days ago my SkyAware wasn’t working. Refreshing brought it back on occasion and I presumed it had to do with my internet provider. Then yesterday a friend said his SkyAware also wasn’t working and I attempted to login to FlightAware and launch SkyAware Anyware from there. Again nothing. Then I logged in to FlightAware and clicked on my ADS-B to locate mu local IP address. Putting the local IP address in the URL bar of my browser opened a window that let me launch SkyAware. ie http://192.168.1.245/skyaware/ (the ip is my local IP)
SkyAware Anywhere seem to be not working for the majority of users.
It always works on your local device with the local IP as long dump1090-fa and piaware are running properly.
But this isn’t accessible from outside as long as you do not have an open port for it in your local network.
