Piaware sudden CPU usage increase

Suddenly today, my Piaware Raspberry Zero climbed from the usual CPU 60-70% usage to a constant 100% for 8 hours now.

I ran the TOP command and the culprit is a process called cuspd which is related to printing, what is not done on this Pi.

I killed the process and the usage level returned to normal.

Does Piaware uses cuspd for whatever reason or should it be unistalles from the system.

I don’t have the answer to your question, but I want to clarify that you are talking about “CUPSd”, and not “cuspd”.

CUPS stands for “Common Unix Printing System” (the “d” part is the “daemon”, which identifies it as a service rather than a standard application).

If it’s actually “cuspd”, then I have no idea what it would be.
