I also never heared of MiniOS till yesterday, when searching something else I landed on MiniOS web page, link to which I have given in my opening post.
I read their description, and thoght to give it a try. My first impression is that it seems a good light-weight debian based OS, particularly for using it for ads-b data feeding to various aggregator sites.
Since I have not put MiniOS to any other use, I cannot say how good or bad it is for other jobs.
Why dont you give it a try? In live mode, it can run from RAM without installation on HDD / SSD.
They offer another version “Flux” whose img you can write to a pen-drive and boot from the pen-drive without installing it. Flux has persistance, so it saves all packages and apps you install on pendrive. It also saves your files on pendrive. You can use this pendrive as a portable HDD / SSDand can use it on any computer.
