Earlier this week I experienced a strange issue, albeit it has happened to me before I flashed to a new install of 10.2, but this is the first occurrence while running 10.2
I received an automated alert from Flightaware on Sept 1 at 11:00pm that my PiAware was no longer providing data to Flight Aware. As my unit is remote from me, I looked at my stats page only to note that the page listed the unit as being online, last check in was 2 minutes ago, but yet the hourly report graph looked like this:
A view of Skyaware confirmed no traffic from that unit on the map. The unit does not respond to commands sent from the stats page, but a simple unplug/plug-back-in fixes the issue. The chart shows data stopped being fed at or round 11:00am 9/1.
What I find odd-
Why is no traffic being sent to FlightAware, but the stats page still shows the unit as being online?
Why did I receive an outage alert 12 hour later, when my settings are set to an email alert 6 hours after an outage?
This unit is running 10.2 (I will reflash to 11.1 when I am able to get to it) and this symptom had happened to me numerous times before prior to flashing it to 10.2.
I don’t have a way to check piaware-status since the unit is not physically near me and I’m not familiar with the processes to remote in if there is a way to do so. Same thing for sending a restart command.
Very familiar with these features. The day this issue happened I did note that the log looked strange. The unit was not responding to any commands sent via the webpage.
