I’ve been having some problems with trying to get my feeder to feed to FlightAware. On the ADSB.im page, for FA it says “You need a FlightAware / Piaware feeder ID. If you already have one, please enter it below. Otherwise, leave the field empty and click on the button and we will try to get one for you. Once this process completes and the feeder ID has been filled in, open the local PiAware page (this should open in a new tab) and click on the “Claim this feeder on FlightAware” button.”
I have done what it says, and waited 48 hours, but nothing is happening. Are there any other ways to get a feeder ID? Thank you
You don’t get an id or the claim isn’t working?
Two different issues.
Edit:
Just tested and the process is working fine for me.
System → logs → piaware … is that present?
Is an ID present there?
I am not getting an ID, the ID just doesn’t show
That means piaware is not giving you one / it’s not connecting to FA.
I’m not sure if getting the id requires you to receive aircraft?
Possible.
Maybe there is also geopolitical issues … i don’t know if there are countries that FA doesn’t give people feed ids? not sure.
You can share the log:
System → Share Diagnostics
Not sure it’s gonna show anything useful, just search for piaware in there.
Why don’t you download a ready-made, official image from the FlightAware website, write it to a microSD card, and run it on your Raspberry Pi? If you do that, you’ll get an ID that you can then use on your ADSB.im image without any issues. The written PiAware image can then be discarded.
That’s not gonna do anything different … there is no reason that would work over what adsb.im does.
Edit: well … suppose if it takes extra long to get the id there would be a difference but usually that shouldn’t be an issue.
So, maybe he’s forgetting to do something.
