Piaware 10.2 available via apt update

Dump1090-fa, Piaware and Piaware-web can now be updated to version 10.2 via apt update and apt upgrade for all the package users out there.

Commands:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

Alternativly you can update via the flightstats page (cogwheel) and execute the update and restart option there.
Have fun

What is new with this version?

An adaptation to the server retry schedule

From the release notes on Piaware:

set serverRetryIntervalSeconds 60

how many seconds with no messages received from the ADS-B receiver before

we will attempt to restart dump1090

For the record, I could not get 10.2 (or 10.1 for that matter) to update via cogweheel - update and restart. Repository kept reporting 10.0.1 still - see below.

I was able to update with the sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y.

I’m using 10.1 at present but when I attempt to update it to 10.2, I get the following at the command prompt:

N: Is the package apt-transport-https installed?
E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/http could not be found.

No idea what I can do about this. I have tried to install apt-transport-https but this won’t work.

I would be grateful for suggestions.

Thanks.

Realisticly, you SD card is probably on the way out.

If it’s an ADS-B only install, cut your losses, get a new SD card and start from scratch.

If you’ve spent ages building a multi-function system, then it’s a tough call, but it’s time to back it up at least.

I have to agree with Gecko here, these kind of errors indicate a SD card on the way out.

Leave it as it is for the moment, get yourself an new one and start from the to prevent more misery in the future.
