i have just purchased a second RPI 3B and will set up a second site. can anyone advise if it is better to just buy a “clean” sd card and load 3.6.3 or can i “overwrite” an sd card that i have that has 3.6.2 loaded on it?

Just follow the normal instructions to create the sd-card
PiAware - build your own ADS-B ground station for integration with FlightAware - FlightAware Step 2
It will overwrite all data that is currently on the card.
No need to buy a new sd-card, it can be written to many times and will be no less clean than a fresh sd-card
