No Blue Angels?

The Blue Angels are doing flyovers in Detroit, Chicago and a few other cities.

I see many military flight with tar1090. But no Blue Angels. So they don’t use the same system?

they might have simply turned of the transponders. In the US they could also use the 978 system which is a different frequency

Military in the US often like to use ModeC, which only gives a squawk but doesn’t let you identify the airframe like ModeS.

And then for ModeS you still need MLAT with multiple receivers unless they use ADS-B (ModeS plus positions, same 24 bit identfier for airframes)
