Why can’t they just use 22L/4R and 22R/4L for takeoff and landing? Problem solved…
The problem with just using the 04/22 runways is that it would reduce the capacity of the airport. Like many hub airports, the amount of traffic scheduled meets or exceeds the capacity of the airport’s runways.
Using crossing runways can be done safely if everybody follows the rules.
Like all problems now days. Nobody follows rules…
Problems arise when a go-around is initiated, not from lack of rule following.
