New LNA is cheap and great

My Uputronics LNA died and I got this to replace it:

Just wanted to share in case anyone is looking to boost your signal. My receiver is a AirSpy Mini.

Looks to have boosted things quite nicely. Are you using a filter with it?

This LNA has a frequency range of 10M-6GHz.
Without a 1090 MHz Filter, it will amplify everything: FM, TV, Mobile etc etc, overloading the AirSpy Mini’s front end.

Well he’s getting reasonable reception, so obviously it’s not doing that at least in his location.

Yes, true.

Either he is in a rural location with minimal RF signals from FM, TV, Mobile etc.

Or he is using a good filter.

I live in a rural area with no industry or power stations nearby. I used a filter in the past, but it made no difference. Just wanted to give people a head up about this LNA because it’s a real bargain and works great.

Appreciate the equipment reference. Thank you. Sharing success is a good thing.

I know what you are saying; I’ve tried wideband LNAs and they are useless in my location very near an FM & TV broadcast tower farm! Love where I live, but filters are my friends! lol

That’s true, but may not be quite as bad as it seems.
The 820t has a tracking band-pass filter that will reduce the effects of out-of-band signals.

The fact that many sites need external filters shows it’s not a panacea, but probably helps.
