VG essentials for Pilot-Astronaut successful candidates
- Graduate of a recognized test pilot school, with at least 2 and a half years post-graduate flight test experience (you will be required to produce evidence at interview)
This month’s Flying Magazine just happens to have an article in it about the U.S.'s only test pilot school. IIRC the cost is somewhere in the neighborhood of $800,000. 
…and THEN you gotta get out there and get 2 and a half years of test pilot experience. By that time, all the positions will be filled!
