A Tennessee man is dead after the plane he was piloting crashed into a vacant lot near Muskogee.
It happened at about 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. A witness said he heard the plane attempting to rev its engine and shortly afterward heard a loud crash and saw a bright flash of light.
The pilot has been identified as Ron S. Dickey, 59, of Williston, TN.
The aircraft was an RV-6A (N22163).
IFR conditions at the time of accident. The aircraft was enroute from Tennessee to an unknown destination in Texas.
