Multilateration (MLAT) Data

Hi Eric
My system shows MLAT highlighted in yellow. but I notice yesterday morning there was 4 aircraft in the air and my MLAT was highlighted green, is that the ADS-B in and out?. what is the minimum requirement (km/miles) to set the next station for MLAT.

The aircraft should be visible to four stations (or more) simultaneously.

MLAT will automatically work when there are MLAT-able aircraft in range and we have sufficient coverage (from 4+ sites simultaneously) to do the MLAT calculations. You are in a remote area and have only 3 neighbor sites. You are marginal for MLAT reception until we have more sites in your area. Given your location you probably won’t see a lot of MLAT aircraft as they will tend to be at lower altitudes and thus harder to meet the requirements for MLAT calculations to work.

The receiver range also seems quite local, how have you got the antenna rigged?
