Does a serial number ever change on a plane?
What does a “S” mean at the end of a registration number? The particular plane I’m looking for, per the FAA data, went from “N” followed by five numbers to a “N” followed by four numbers & ending with a “S”

Do you mean serial number or tail/registration number? Tail numbers do change.
