If I go on to https://globe.adsb.fi I get a map identical to the adsbX map.
Don’t get any info about who is running it.

Luckly I have ADSB Exchange installed on a separate Pi so it is as easy as pulling the plug until I find something else. However I am still feeding at the moment and would may just stay on that course for a while just to see what occurs if it is good or bad but like I had said it is as easy as pulling the plug. https://globe.adsb.fi site is worth while to go to then where do I get the command to feed them?
I did remove the .txt but makes no difference.
Of course it made no difference, it’s irrelevant
Sorry - the message was sent before I completed it. What I was going to ask - could it be anything to do with the fact that the sd card has been inserted into a different Raspberry Pi?
Nope, the password is part of the OS so if you move the card from one Pi to another, the password goes with it.
OK thanks for the info.
If the SD card was moved from one PI to another one, check to see if the IP address of the PI has changed… That has happened to me before.
I have tried this with out any luck. I have etched a new sd card so will go through the motions of claiming a feed then select my current station. I am keeping a log of everything I do this time.
Seems lot of hobbyists (including me ) are still feeding Adsbexchange

I’m still feeding them. However, with adsbexchange it’s hard to tell how much data is being sent to them. For example what position data is sent, which planes your station was used for tracking, etc. Granted you can see how many peers your station is synced with for MLAT, and the local map is nice – it shows how far away from your site a plane has been tracked. That kind of replaces the polar chart that FlightAware has. But that’s about it.
If you have your original Unique Identifier (from the stats page) then you can enter this in the config file of your new image and keep your old stats.

Geoff, thanks very much. I am planning some “down time” ie replacing my coax feed, replace pole and repositioning the Pi’s so I will carry it out then.
Yes, that’s what i said. In this thread i heard it the first time.
The DNS records for adsb.fi have been created already in 2014, registered by or with www.planeetta.fi
See the Discord link I posted earlier.
Lots of information there.
Another interesting one.
Don’t think there are any bells and whistles with feeding though.

If you have tar1090 installed, click on the overlays icon…the blue book thing top right of the map). Click on “range rings”. Worked for me at any rate.
I’m taking a “wait and see” approach. If ADSBx starts filtering a/c then I’ll stop feeding because I don’t see any other value add. As to being commercial, ADSBx has always required commercial users to pay for the data. It was only free for hobbyists and researchers, so in some sense they have always been a commercial operation. I don’t blame them. It costs money to run this stuff. I’ll add that I have started feeding ADSB.fi too.
Any information who owns & runs this site? May be it is an unrelated site, but is adsbexchange look-alike due to use of tar1090, which has caused this misunderstanding that it is run by ex-adsbexchange guys.
Founded by people from ADSBx - see my earlier posts for link to very active Discord chat rooms about it.
