Issues with FA Website the whole day

Am i the only one experiencing issues while loading the Stats pages on flightaware.com?

It’s is either very slow or the site runs into a timeout.
This is running since 12 hours meanwhile.

While typing this post it shows this on the FA main page:

seem to be i am not the only one:

no issues here at the moment, all loading fine including stats pages.

https://uk.flightaware.com/ works fine.

Not for me. Same issue.

I’m having issues loading the main page and stats. Going to an individual flight seemed to work fine though.

all requests are going to webfarm.flightaware.com. Also the one with “uk” as prefix.

Using a different check, same result:

Seems to be bouncing around, main and stats work, but getting back to discussions stalled a bit.

The discussions are the only section currently working for me.

Over the day, the sites were loading, but since an hour i am not getting any connect

Same here – usually cannot get to the stats page. Maybe get in 1 out of 10 tries at best.

Edit: It makes a liar out of me. Now I got in quickly 3 times in a row.

Welcome to the world of Content Distributed/Delivery Network.

Servers we hit may be regional. Not on the same cluster as the next. And have issues syncing the same requests

Hopefully mostly back to normal now!

Try flightaware.com rather than www.flightaware.com

It was more of a network thing (depended on which POP you hit) but yeah, regional.

As a guy working in IT i have to deal with CDN enabled features all day.
However the issues should be fixed after a certain amount of time

Yesterday i tried several variants of course. But all showed a similar behavior.

I can confirm that several short tests this morning were successful. Thanks!

So can likely also understand by dashboards involved behind it, they likely already knew about it and was prob a WIP

I just find it helps to throw it out now and then as there’s lots of non IT people who don’t know how stuff gets to us these days. Not all as straight forward as it once was when you had metal boxes in single location or WAN’d

The usual response is ‘fine for me’ with scaling and failover/routing (without a bit of backing like region and resolved addressing/routes.)

FR had some bouts of falling over before they scaled up and people got CloudFlare messages and just couldn’t understand or freaked out. (And still panic when the stats ones stop updating the web front but keep recording)

I was checking first if the issue is on my side. As i did not read any other posts before in the discussion, i made some tests (including access to it from other systems i have access to and are in a complete different location.

Most people don’t care about CDN and that’s totally fine. Not everyone need to be an IT expert. It’s simply not important for end users.

Still not working reliably for me. MLAT goes in and out. Sometimes all three indicators are red. I’ve never seen it this flakey before. Flakey – that’s a technical term.

Edit to add: It could be something on my end. For the last day or so, I haven’t been able to ping between various computers on my LAN. So there’s that.

Maybe you need to reboot a switch or the router ?

I once solved a really strange ping issue just by powering the switch off and on again.
I’ve got quite an extensive network at home with 8 switches so once in a while they tend to go haywire.

If you only have a router then a reboot should also reset the switching part of the router

Yeah, I just have a WiFi router. I tried a recycle of power to the router (twice). The first time it helped somewhat. The second time it didn’t change anything.

Since this doesn’t seem to directly relate to FlightAware per se, I’ll start a new thread on this. I’ll call it “WiFi adventures”.

That seem to be a different problem and not related to slow loading page.
If MLAT turns red it indicates normally a problem with the device itself. Your ping issues might indicate thi as well.

do you have by chance an IP address duplication in your network?
