If someone mistakenly shows an incorrect location for their device what is the effect on Mlat positions?

i’d say nearly no effect. if enough other sites are avail the one with unreasonable data isn’t used. if there are only 1-3 others sites avalible mlat will fail because of too few sites as the wrong location one cannot be used …
Usually it won’t even get clock sync. (If the timings of messages from aircraft with known positions aren’t consistent with the expected timings based on what other receivers are seeing and the claimed location, then sync can’t happen)
