Billionaires, Hollywood Celebrities Join Call to End Public Plane Tracking

Flight tracking exposure irks billionaires and baddies

Interesting. So when you click on a flight and you get something like:

This aircraft (N524BB) is not available for public tracking per request from the owner/operator.

It’s strictly a request from the owner – nothing in the law about it. I guess some of these celebs want to pass a law that would enforce non-availability.

Exactly. And Flightaware or FR24 can choose to accept the request or not.
Government flights might be different…

This is probably an example of the Streisand effect - Wikipedia writ large.

Ahh. A reboot of this call all over again

They sure don’t like going global recently and being painted with a brush they didn’t like the press of

Oddly, many of them often lease the aircraft, and are not always the only ones flying in them. A couple over this region are used for military drone training. Shared Medivac. And so on.

Strange though. As you find, many are blocked. But then there are people always spotting, and updating twitter and so on even if they don’t actually ‘track’ them.

ADSBExhange is not blocking anything.
Personally I think that’s bad for national security reasons (even for military training flights), but not for the sanctimonious celebrities and politicians that are always shaming us, the plebes, for using cars to drive to work.
