How to carve out a clean hole in your ADS-B range ring: Just add international detour routes

My SHIRAKAMI station’s coverage: South stretches out nicely over the mountains, but the West is cleanly carved out.

I was hoping to cross the Sea of Japan and push my coverage westward, but it seems civilian traffic prefers to give the area a wide berth. Turns out that avoiding unpredictable “sub-orbital fireworks” is a great way to keep the western horizon completely empty of planes!

Anyone else experiencing similar “one-sided” coverage maps due to modern detour routes?

Looks like they are flying a bit more on the western course today!

Hopefully, the day will come soon when many aircraft can safely fly across the Sea of Japan again!
