Check the image I snapped from a double hold pattern for KSNA, does this happen due to flow control at busy west coast airports ? It was early in the AM when I tracked this flight.

That’s a beautiful hold . . . and I have to admit I was really confused at the color scheme from a screenshot that I thought was created this morning. Now I see that the Activity Log is from January.
On any given day there are more racetracks in the air than there are on the ground!
Just wait until summer is here with its attendant thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. if you want to see enroute holds.

I’m not sure about the time issue, but I’ll bet ( if this is an early morning shot) that this hold was due to weather: fog, most likely.
