Flightplan data for aircraft outside US/Canada airspace....

HI,

I have searched the forum about this question, but not found any answers.

How come I can get flightplan data on flights which go nowhere near US / Canadian airspace? Where does the flightplan data come from?

For example, I have flightplan data for CPA255 from VHHH to EGLL. I understand the tracking element won’t work - but flightplan/route data is still useful - how accurate is this data?

The flightplans are from ETMS; they send us a lot of flightplans that we’ll never see tracking data from.

So do you know what determines which flight plans you get? It seems to be quite random, although there are more longhaul than shorthaul on your system.
