Flight leg identification cannot be based on wall-clock time


I was watching COA47 from Frankfurt to IAH on 1-Jul-10. It was delayed by three hours. Once the time the on-going leg to LAX passed, the ability to track the inbound leg from Frankfurt was unavailable, the map was meaningless (no annotations or track) and the flight data which indicated the flight was underway was, obviously bogus.

It seems the logic to identify the active leg needs improvement. The wall-clock isn’t suitable.
