My understanding is that the flight was operated VFR, so it likely isn’t on FlightAware.

The tail number is N130FS, but it wasn’t flying IFR under its tail number or under a company (CHK) callsign.

Good find. I was rummaging around the site but couldn’t make any connection between any of the tail numbers and the plane that went down. Not sure if their site is just flooded w traffic or just natuarally slow. I’m leaning towards the former…

Go to wsvn.com our local FOX affiliate. They have video coverage. You might also try local10.com and wfor.com and nbc6.net. Thiose are all of our Miami stations.

Curious, the FAA registry for N2969 says it has reciprocating engines, while the pictures Orlaam linked to show turbines. There are only two G73s registered with turbines, N2974 and N777PV.

I haven’t looked or seen a 100% confirmation on the tail number. Airliners.net has some extensive discussion about it, but their forums have a lot of dead weight, so take it with a grain of salt.

Also, CNN has video of the plane going into the water. No doubt the people died from blunt trauma. Even if you didn’t die right away from the impact, you’d certainly be on borrowed time, especially trapped underwater. Very sad. Looks like the wing came off from the fire/explosion in the engine. The video is far from perfect though.

My guess is that Orlaam has some bad info, I can’t recall ever seeing a NWS incident report that got the tail number wrong.
